Women's Self-Defense Instructors
Maeve is an Aikido practitioner, having trained for nine years in locations like France, Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic. Maeve is a caring and confident instructor. Her exposure to Rape Escape came through starting as an assistant instructor with Ray Butcher. "I assisted Ray in many Level 1 & 2 courses. The feeling of satisfaction when we finish the courses is incredible. Women who at the first class were totally oblivious to danger and powerless to react to a violent situation, leave full of confidence, with the skills they need to effectively defend themselves. "Unfortunately, most women I know go about their busy lives totally oblivious to what’s going on around them; and to make matters worse, they are under the illusion that being attacked is something that happens to someone else, not to them. Women’s self-defence to me is 1) being more aware 2) having effective and simple techniques to defend myself from and escape from an attack."
