Women's Self-Defense Instructors
Chris is a firearms instructor and an advocate of realistic, practical self-defense. He has studied with Bong Soo Han; Louis Awerbuck at the Yavapai Firearms Academy; Scott Reitz and Brett McQueen at International Tactical Training Seminars; and Steve Tarani at Contact Defense. He has taught at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute and West Coast Tactical. "Situational awareness and the willingness to fight for ones life are personal decisions – but they are not enough. We must also learn practical defensive skills that are effective, reflexive and repeatable under pressure. Expect the unexpected and train to stay in the fight until you are safe. "One in five women will be attacked during their lifetime. As a self-defense / firearms student and instructor, I have observed the inadequate training and suggestions offered to women seeking practical every-day defensive skills. "Situational awareness, mindset, and carrying oneself with the confidence gained from honing (and maintaining) practical rape escape fighting skills will decrease the odds of being selected as ‘prey’ and attacked. "As a self defense / firearms instructor I feel the Rape Escape program offer female students practical, proven escape skills that apply to situations they will encounter on the street or at home.
